Young Writers Manuscript Feedback

$125.00

Are you a young writer? Have you written a novel and need some expert feedback from someone other than a friend, your teacher, or your Aunty who self published that book that one time?

Or, maybe you’re a parent and you’ve noticed that your young person has written a pretty good novel and you want to encourage them to self publish it or submit it to publishers.

I can read your manuscript and provide a feedback report to help you or your young person develop their novel.

I provide a flat rate for young writers to help them on their publication journey, no matter the word count.

I am a writer and a trained high school teacher of English and History which means I regularly test read student manuscripts, providing feedback, support, and advice on plot, character, setting, dialogue, genre specifics, and more.

Please note, this is a different service to a proofread - the manuscript must be complete and edited to a high standard to avoid distractions from what’s important - the story.

“Tracie’s test read of my novel was critical and encouraging. As both a reader and a writer, she has explored a multitude of genres - making her test reading and feedback invaluable. When I asked Tracie to keep an eye out for particular things that I was worried about, she made sure to provide in-depth comments about those specifics while making sure that her observations around the rest of the novel were still high-quality. I love that Tracie’s comments focused on both positives and negatives, as it encouraged me to fix my mistakes and let my book grow rather than being disappointed in myself for making a mistake.”

"Tracie read my manuscript so fast it was incredible, and she provided me not only with constructive feedback, but also with the opportunity to engage in discussions about what we both thought regarding the novel - me with the lens of an author and her as a reader, to help me further develop the manuscript, and fix any errors that I might not otherwise have noticed. She was supportive and encouraging and her criticisms always felt like a necessary kindness that served only to improve my writing."

- Indigo Tomlinson, NZ.
