A woman, searching for her place as a mother in this world, feels the apocalyptic heat Mother Nature suffers too. She looks to ancient maternal leaders for strength, and to past paternal influences for understanding. She anticipates a safe world for tomorrow’s girl. With new abundance, the irony of loss-anxiety unfurls, creating a gritty emotional meniscus to fossick in. in quiet winds we settle probes into the global heat of maternal identity, upsetting complacency by interrogating a sustainable investment towards tomorrow's children.

I once asked a friend: why can’t I be free? Why is there a cage around me? And he responded: but, girl, aren’t you partly responsible for building this cage? You just sat there while the cage was built around you.
So, I took down the cage.

100 Word Short Stories Published 2016
Thanks for spilling Hundreds and Thousands across your screen. These one hundred word stories are meant for simple indulgence; they are bite sized treats you can devour as quickly or slowly as you wish but please, place them on your tongue one by one.
I like to think of the one hundred word story as a slice of conversation that you might share with someone special, with someone you might not prefer the company of, or even with a stranger. It is a slice of air time that you or someone else may be allowed space for. Like a conversation with someone, the short story is something you might walk away and think about it after, reflecting on something new you may have discovered. The idea within a short story will continue to work in your mind long after you have read it. It means that the reader has a little more work to do, and understanding each story can be a little tricky sometimes which is why these one hundred word stories should be consumed slowly, one at a time for pure enjoyment.
